NASA CoLab Events

CoLab will be holding both one-time and regular events. Please see the sidebar on the left for more information on any specific event.

We have regular monthly salons in San Francisco (paralleled in the online virtual world Second Life), entitled Luna Philosophie, and a supplementary monthly salon held entirely in Second Life, as well as weekly CoLab Second Life community planning meetings.

In mid-April 2007, the first in a series of CoLab San Francisco Community Meetings convened 30 Bay Area community leaders at Industrial Light and Magic to explore options for locating a physical CoLab co-working facility in the Bay Area.

In May, 2007, NASA Ames Center Director Pete Worden gave his plenary speech at the International Space Development Conference live from Second Life on NASA CoLab Island. Click here for links to a video, transcripts, pictures, and press coverage.

In June, 2007, NASA CoLab and the National Space Society hosted the Participatory Exploration Summit with invited web 2.0 leaders and technologists. We also have been using a preliminary version of the online software to promote collaboration both during and after the actual summit. You can view, track and help to make these changes at the following website: http://conference.nasacolab.org/conference/participatory-exploration-sum....

We encourage you to read more about these activities and get involved!
